Privacy Shield ("we", "our", or "us") is designed from the ground up with a strict privacy-first architecture. We do not collect, store, track, or transmit any of your personal data, webpage content, browsing history, or masked sensitive information. All masking operations occur 100% locally within your browser.

1. Data Processing and Local Execution

When you use Privacy Shield to hide sensitive data on a webpage, the extension operates entirely within your local browser environment (DOM). Text, images, emails, financial numbers, and custom redacted elements never leave your machine and are never sent to any external server or third-party API.

2. Permissions Required

Privacy Shield requests minimal Chrome extension permissions solely to deliver its core functionality:

• activeTab / scripting: Used exclusively to apply local CSS masking and DOM redaction on the active webpage.
• storage: Used locally on your device to save your extension preferences and license activation status (Pro edition).

3. Third-Party Services and Licensing

For Pro license activation, we partner with secure merchant and licensing providers (such as Lemon Squeezy). When purchasing a Pro license, you provide payment details directly to our payment processor under their respective privacy policies. We only receive confirmation of valid license activation and device fingerprint counts.
